PhD Student @ USM, LMU
I am Freddy, a PhD student at the University-Observatory, Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. My research focus are hydrodynamical cosmological simulations.
I implement Meshless Finite Mass (MFM) as an alternative hydro-solver in the cosmological simulation code OpenGadget3, analyze it's capabilities and study the impact of the hydrodynamical scheme in high-resolution simulations of structure formation.
Especially, I use simulations to study subsonic turbulence, present in the intra-cluster medium (ICM)
My phd is carried out within the ERC Advanced Group COMPLEX of Prof. Klaus Dolag funded from the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation program grant agreement ERC-2019-AdG 882679.
In addition, I am supported by the ORIGINS Excellence Cluster, funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) under Germany's Excellence Strategy - EXC-2094 - 390783311.
